iPhone 15 Pro A recent sneak peek of an iPhone 15 Pro case supports the idea that the mute switch might be replaced by a new Action button.

The leaked case of the iPhone 15 Pro confirms that the physical mute switch is being replaced by an action button. When Apple unveils the iPhone 15 Pro in a few weeks, we expect the traditional mute switch to be replaced with a button that can adapt based on the need. The new button will function similarly to the action button on the Apple Watch Ultra (or whatever Apple chooses to call it).

Adding to the pile of evidence is a new leak suggesting that the iPhone 14 Pro will be the last iPhone with the conventional mute switch. "@MajinBuOfficial" claims in a post, "Apparently, there's a third button shown in cases for iPhone 15 Ultra models that takes the place of the old mute switch."

While it's uncertain whether it will be called the iPhone 15 Ultra instead of the iPhone 15 Pro, the fusion of the Titanium frame and such an "action button" undeniably carries an "Ultra" vibe. Rumors are swirling that Apple is reserving the iPhone Ultra for an even higher-tier model next year.

Regarding the leaked cases, the post showcases three iPhone 15 Pro Apple MagSafe cases in deep green, black, and navy-blue colors. Instead of highlighting a cutout above the volume buttons, these cases include a small button, hinting at a potential change to the iconic silent switch. When it comes to Apple leaks, images can hold credible information.

Expectations are high that Apple will introduce various functions for the new button on the iPhone 15 Pro: mute/unmute, accessibility, shortcuts, camera, flashlight, focus, magnifier, translation, and voice memo. It's possible that the mute mode could also be incorporated into the Control Center on the iPhone.

For iPhone photographers, assigning the new button as a dedicated camera app launcher could be especially beneficial. Apple had previously incorporated a prominent button in the Smart Battery Case to launch the camera app, although it disappeared with the MagSafe version.

With a single click, the camera app launches automatically, even if the display was off and the iPhone is locked. Fortunately, it seems that this convenience might be extended to further functionalities when the iPhone 15 Pro debuts in September.
